Getting a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, correct for programming?

Would getting a B.S. in computer science be right for Programming, and could I later take more classes for game programming?Getting a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, correct for programming?
Absolutely a computer science degree is what you want to get if you want to be a programmer. If you take computer science as a major you will take several programming classes (probably starting with java) and will learn the basics of how computer programing relates to how a computer works, how databases are connected and how they work, how operating systems are connected. You will gain a whole picture of computer programming. It is important to get this full picture to be able to program effectively. If you are interested in game programming you should also take classes in graphic design and this sort of thing but remember game programming is an incredibly competitive field and having a good programming background to fall back on is a good idea.Getting a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, correct for programming?
