This question will spark of a lot of debate and not come to any resolution.





The answer is dependant upon what you need to create. A website? a cross-platform application? a Unix service? a robot? ... The list could go on for ever.





Once you have learnt a programming language, you not go off and make anything. You will always have to select the programming language after knowing your requirements.What is the best programming language?
Totally depends on your skill and what you're planning to do. I mean COMAL is great for a beginner learning but not a lot else.


Visual Basic is good for people with a bit more experience but who still aren't fully fledged programmers . . .


So yeh totally depends on you and what you're trying to do.
I would say .NET technology is the most advanced and friendly programming language.
That depends on your skill and what you want to do with it.
I think it depends on time C was the best 90's then VB,JAVA now .NET
