The best way to learn computer programming is to have constant access with people that have been in your shoes. I suggest you find a community that will give you support when you need it. I don't know how long it will take. It depends on how smart you are :), but I can guarantee you will learn faster then trying to cram your brain with code and programming books!

I'll leave just one site as a source that specifically helps Young and New programmers but you can find plenty of Forums out there with a simple google searchWhere to learn the basics of programming%26gt;?
Wow,

Um, I would recommend to try to find some classes in your community,

or to read some books on programming. It really is a lot more complicated than I think what you are estimating. I would recommend though to try to develop some kind of Adobe Air application by either HTML/AJAX or a simple Iphone app, because all of their software development kits are free (SDK)
Depending on the type of applications (desktop, web, etc) you want to develop, you should first choose the preferred language. Then, learn the basics of the programming language. By the way, you can get a whole lot of free resources over the internet for C, C++, Java, etc.
